Speaking of nature-deficit disorder, I finally got around to reading "Last Child in the Woods" by Richard Louv. It was a wonderful book and definitely eye-opening to the fact that our children are facing the consequences of not having as much free time in nature to explore and learn about the world in a no pressure, hands on way. I highly recommend everybody to read the book! I know that my goal is to have my children spend more time outside learning about the world, exploring and enjoying how you feel with fresh air in your lungs and a breeze on your back!
I hope that we are able to take the kids on their very first camping trip this Fall. We are just waiting for the weather to cool down a bit! They have been asking us for months to take them on a camping trip and they are finally at an age where I think it would be relatively easy. Do you have any outdoor plans for your children?
